Small, brownish in color with two tan & five blackish long longitudinal stripes down the back

Length: 5 to 6 inches
Weight: 3 ounces
Tail length: 3 to 4 inches

The chipmunk is a ground dweller with a lifespan up to three years

Burrowing under patios, stairs, retention walls or foundations

Damage to flower bulbs and raiding of pet food and bird seed feeders

Grains, nuts, berries, seeds, mushrooms and insects.

Average litter size: 2 to 5 young born in April to May and again in August through October

Pups appear above ground when they are 4 to 6 weeks old
